Bombastic and manic song about my time in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The adrenaline, the fear, the camaraderie and a million complex emotions and thoughts condensed down into this track.
lyrics
Pain made manifest
A scream out like broken glass
A cry out into the void
To pronounce it's pointlessness
Did you hear we killed the monster?
Did you you think we did so well?
Did you see the broken bodies lying there?
We're getting good at building hell
I am gutted all the time
An abject horror turns the twisting knife
And we'll remember every act
and wander the desert 'till we die
Did you hear we killed the monster?
Did you you think we did so well?
Did you see the broken bodies lying there?
We're getting good at building hell
Did you hear we killed the monster?
Did you you think we did so well?
Did you see the broken bodies lying there?
We're getting good at building hell
It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
